Sugar Land, TX. – (June 1, 2026) – Nexus Water Group, Inc. (“Nexus Water”) today, June 1, 2026, closed on the sale of operations and assets in eight states: Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Virginia. American Water purchased the systems for approximately $315 million.
The closing follows regulatory approvals by the respective state public utility commissions, as well as customary approvals from governmental entities, finalized on May 21, 2026.

Approximately 70 employees will be joining the American Water team, continuing to serve their customers in these service areas. The companies worked together prior to closing to help ensure a smooth transition for employees and customers.
